A young woman was killed after being hit by a train at Hadley Wood station yesterday afternoon.
Paramedics were called to the station, in Crescent West, just before 12pm, but the woman, believed to be a 20-year-old from Islington, was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by the 11.04am service from Welwyn Garden City to Moorgate.
British Transport Police said that officers are treating the incident as non-suspicious, and are working to formally identify the woman and inform her next of kin.
Another person, believed to be a 41-year-old woman from East Barnet, was killed five hours later after being hit by a train at Oakleigh Park Station. That death is also being treated as non-suspicious.
The incidents led to trains being cancelled late into the evening as detectives investigated the scenes.
