MAJOR regeneration of a housing estate in south west Enfield has moved a step closer following the signing of a deal between the council and developers.
Essex-based firm Mulalley has been given the task of delivering the £100 million building programme of 491 new homes, a community centre and more than 4,000sq metres of retail space at the Ladderswood Estate.
The company is in partnership with the One Housing Group, which already manages more than 12,000 homes across London.
The deal between Enfield Council and the two firms was signed on Tuesday, and planning applications will go in next month, with the first new homes due to be ready by early 2014.
Councillor Ahmet Oykener, cabinet member for housing, said the signing was “a clear statement” of the desire to provide more homes in the borough.
