TOTTENHAM has been named as among the worst places in Britain for child poverty.
A study by the End Child Poverty Campaign, released today, showed 41 per cent of children in the parliamentary constituency of Tottenham are living in poverty, putting it in the worst 20 constituency areas in the country.
The figure, calculated on the number of children whose families are on unemployment benefits, is double the national average.
It is just above neighbouring Edmonton on 39 per cent, but contrasts heavily with Hornsey and Wood Green where 25 per cent of children are living in poverty.
The campaign used the report to call for the Government to help struggling families out of poverty and to place greater emphasis on job creation.
