A SHOPPING centre in Edmonton Green is searching for singers of all ages for an X Factor-style talent contest.
More than 100 contestants are expected to take part in The Xmas Factor, playing to crowds outside Edmonton Green Shopping Centre.
Roger Allen, the centre manager, said the talent contest had returned for a second year after last Christmas' entrants “blew us away” with their efforts.
He said: “It was a great privilege to put this event on and I am so looking forward to this year which promises to be even bigger and better.”
Cash prizes of £500 will be given to the winners of the two categories – under 18s and over 18s – but only after they have battled through the heats and seen off competition in the final showdown.
The first heat will take place on Thursday, November 24, to coincide with the switching on of the Edmonton Green Christmas lights, with a further heat is planned for Saturday, December 3.
The Enfield Independent will be covering the heats and the final on Saturday, December 10, as media partners, with the winners of each round announced on this website and on the shopping centre's Facebook page.
All the acts will perform on a specially erected stage on the shopping centre's concourse.
If you would like to enter The Xmas Factor, you can get an application form from the Registration Desk at the centre on the day of the heat.
Alternatively, you can enter online at www.edmontongreencentre.co.uk.
The Thursday heat is from 3pm to 8pm and on Saturday between 11am and 4pm.
The competition is being organised by St Modwen, who run the shopping centre, with the support of businesses and Enfield Council.
