POLICE have released a picture of a man they are hunting in connection with a vicious assault in June in Edmonton.

The man is wanted for questioning over the attack, when a 23-year-old man was stabbed in the cheek and arm as he tried to escape.

He was first attacked in a Fore Street bookies, being repeatedly kicked and punched him until he managed to escape and run away along Alpha Road.

However, the attacker caught up with him and struck him again before stabbing him.

The victim was taken to hospital after the attack, at around 8pm on June 19 and has since recovered from his injuries.

Detective Constable Paul Allgood, from Enfield Police's Major Crime Unit, is leading the investigation and said they are looking for a man in his late teens or early twenties, who was wearing at multi-coloured top at the time of the attack.
