A TEENAGE girl from Edmonton has been missing for a week after reportedly disappearing with a strange man.

Kimberly Adjei, 16, left her home in Raynham Avenue last Sunday for a barbeque in Edgware, but never returned home.

She rang that night from a man's phone and left a message on her parents' answer machine saying she was staying out overnight.

Her parents were on holiday until Monday night, but her grandfather phoned her on Monday afternoon to find out where she was.

Kimberly said she would "get a lift home", but still failed to return.

Her father, Seth Adjei, then called her at 7.15pm and she told him she was "with a friend" and would return later.

That was the last contact Kimberly had with her family.

Mr Adjei, 52, said: "She's never done anything like this before. She's a quiet, shy girl.

"We're extremely worried, but the police don't seem to be doing very much to help us.

"We desperately want to find out who this man was whose phone she called from.

"I had no idea she had any sort of boyfriend. There was no sign of it at all."

Kimberly is black, 5ft 6in tall, of slim build and has weaved hair.

When last seen she was wearing a black long-sleeved sweat shirt, black leggings and black plimsolls.

Charity Missing People has put out a poster to help the search. A spokesman said: "There is great concern for Kimberly's safety.

"She is urged to call our helpline on Freefone 0808 800 7070 for confidential advice and support."
