LAPTOPS which were stolen from a youth advisory service did not contain any personal information, the council has confirmed.
The three computers were taken from the Connexions office in Church Street, Enfield Town on December 16 after a window was left unlocked, police said.
The Connexions service gives advice on education, careers, housing, money, health and relationships for 13-19 year olds.
Fears were raised by residents that names and addresses of local children might have been on the hard drives, as Connexions provides careers advice for schools across the borough.
But Enfield Council, which manages the local branch of the service, said the laptops were used to access websites and had no personal information on them.
The computers were password protected but not encrypted, a spokeswoman said.
She added: “Security has been strengthened at these premises with all equipment, doors and windows locked when the service is closed.”
