Enfield gets the Oxo factor

A DECADE after Lynda Bellingham became one of the nation's favourite housewives, a Southgate family is ready to step into her OXO-doused shoes.

The Harry family, from De Bohun Avenue, have been named as one of the five finalists of "The OXO Factor", a competition to find real people to front their new television campaign.

The competition, launched in August, was open to any group that enjoys spending mealtimes together, whether family, friends or colleagues.

Entrants from all around the UK filmed and submitted adverts that showed how they give their food "the OXO factor".

The judging panel, made up of representatives from OXO, London-based creative agency MCBD and independent adjudicators PromoVeritas, chose the Harry family from hundreds of entries.

Their film was the brainchild of ten-year-old Zackarius, who plays the parts of mum, dad, brother and little sister.

The rest of the family - Elizabeth, 38, Alan, 40, Cezanne, eight, and Sebastian, four - appear together at the end of their entry.

Mrs Harry said: “We were thrilled to bits to find out that we had made it through to the final five of The OXO Factor as Oxo is something we usually use at home in dishes and different soups I like to make.

"Our eldest son Zackarius is really into anything creative and filming, so when I saw the competition in a magazine we agreed it would be something fun to do as a family over the summer holidays.

"Zackarius came up with the idea of playing all the different characters himself, which suited me as I prefer to be behind the camera, although we all appear at the end."

The advert is currently being aired during prime time slots on television. The public can show their support for the family by voting at www.theoxofactor.com before December 7.

The winners, who will also receive £10,000 in prize money, will be announced live during the advertising break of The X Factor final on ITV1 on December 12.
