OVER 50 road safety campaigners gathered together this morning to highlight fears over a dangerous stretch of road.
Morton Way and Morton Crescent, which flanks Arnos Park in Southgate, is a residential road flanked by schools.
A spokesman for David Burrowes’ office, MP for Southgate, said residents had been petitioning him “en masse” for action to make the road safer.
Henry Lamprecht, who works for Mr Burrowes, and is also Conservative councillor for Southgate Green, said: “There is a huge problem with speeding. There are no pedestrian crossings and we are campaigning either for these or for speed calming measures.”
Police have been in the area taking measurements with speed guns while the council, who recently met with Mr Lamprecht over the issue, have promised to look into the issue, Mr Lamprecht said.
