DO you feel you have not achieved the A-level or GCSE results you were expecting?
If not, do not worry because help is at hand.
Enfield Training Services (ETS) provides a number of training schemes for young people aged 14-25 looking for skills and training that lead to employment.
Two apprenticeship programmes are designed to put youngsters through their paces and prepare them for the world of work.
The hairdressing apprenticeship is a two-year course offering full European recognition.
During the course, trainee hair stylists are taken through rigorous sessions including theory and practical work, customer care and service.
Enfield Council has established a training salon in Southbury Road, called The Academy, where the public can book appointments at greatly reduced prices.
Under the strict supervision of highly qualified stylists, trainees are encouraged to perfect their skills at the academy and are only allowed to work on models once they have reached a sufficiently high standard.
Programme manager, Maria Howard, said: "The Academy is very popular. It is run along commercial lines and attracts many satisfied customers.
"Our success rate with the hairdressing apprenticeship is way above the national average. Over 75 per cent of trainees go on to successful careers."
Business administration is an apprenticeship programme designed to train young people for busy office life.
These courses offer NVQ levels 2 and 3 and are well respected in the job market.
Through its long-established connections with local training providers and businesses, ETS also offers other training opportunities for young people to learn skills in mechanics, construction and child care.
There are also taster opportunities throughout retail and manufacturing trades and specialist sessions to build confidence.
