Rock artists Simple Minds, the Pretenders and KT Tunstall have cancelled a concert due to “transport and security” issues.

The Grandslam 2018 concert was due to take place at Trent Park on Monday 27 August, featuring Simple Minds, the Pretenders and KT Tunstall.

A spokesperson for the artists said: “We’re extremely disappointed that the show will not go ahead.

“We were all really looking forward to coming to Enfield to perform for our fans at this beautiful venue.”

People due to attend the concert hit out at the organisers on Twitter with anger about apparent transport and security issues.

One fan, John Brown, tweeted: “Utter joke. What transport and security issues? The same ones London faces every single day? It’s not even the centre of London it’s Trent Park.”

Another, Tom Renphrey called the cancellation “utterly acceptable.”

Organisers have apologised for any inconvenience. Fans who bought tickets for the Enfield show are entitled to a full refund.

All other dates on the tour are unaffected.
