Police have issued an urgent appeal to trace a pensioner with dementia who disappeared from hospital.

Iris Godden of Wellington Street, Enfield, was last seen at 11am yesterday (Tuesday August 7) walking out of North Middlesex Hospital in Sterling Way, Enfield.

The 79-year-old had been admitted to hospital after feeling dizzy and faint.

She also suffers from a heart condition and dementia which has recently deteriorated.

Iris is described as white, of slim build with short curly white hair. When last seen, she was wearing a pink cardigan, long blue coat and carrying a small black handbag.

She frequents Enfield Town and often uses the 192/ 377 bus to get to and from Enfield Town as well as the London Overground from Enfield Town to Bush Hill Park.

Detective Inspector Paul Ridley from North Area CID is appealing for assistance from the public.

He said: "We urgently need to locate Iris. She walked out of the hospital in a vulnerable condition and there have been no sightings since.

“Her family and friends are understandably extremely worried and have been searching the streets in addition to our officers.

“The weather conditions are very warm therefore increasing the risk, as she urgently needs fluids and medication.

“I would urge members of the public to be vigilant and call us immediately with any sightings, she is known to use public transport."

Police are urging anyone with information on her whereabouts to call them on 101 or Missing People on 116000 quoting reference 18MIS031756.
