A little girl with a dangerous form of cancer is battling against the odds.

Daya Amole is just 21-months-old and fighting neuroblastoma, a form of cancer that affects children.

After eight unsuccessful rounds of chemotherapy, she faces a new round of high dose chemotherapy in the hope this can reduce the cancer so that it can be operated on.

Anu Amole, Daya’s father said: “Childhood cancer is a gut-wrenching experience; it is amongst any parent’s worst nightmare.

“Despite eight rounds of chemotherapy plus a current round of particularly intense high dose chemotherapy, Daya is still a fun loving toddler, who remains strong and determined.”

The operation that Anu desperately wants for his little girl cannot be carried out in the UK and so the treatment in the US needs funds to be raised.

A vaccine to stop Daya's cancer coming back is also in the US but the this too is very expensive.

Currently the family have opened a crowdfunding page and raised £41,528, only a portion of the money still needed.

He said: “We have been deeply moved by the kindness and generosity of spirit of so many friends and neighbours, and even strangers from the area.

“That kindness and compassion, ironically, Daya is a Sikh name meaning compassion and this has brought its own solace to us in this dark hour.
