The Turkish Cypriot community will hold their second cultural festival in Britain on Sunday, June 17. Organised by the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations in Britain (CTCA UK), the national body for the UK’s 300,000-strong community, the festival will take place at Enfield Playing Fields, Donkey Lane, between 11am and 8pm.

Last year, CTCA UK agreed to host the first ever Turkish Cypriot Cultural festival to mark the 100 years of migration to the UK and also to celebrate and share the Turkish Cypriot culture. The response from the local people and the Turkish Cypriot community was quite remarkable and exceeded all expectations. The attendance figures reached a staggering 20,000 and the success of the event was shared by the press, social media and general public.

This festival marks an important milestone for the Turkish Cypriot community as it has been the first of its kind and proudly became an annual cultural event. Following on from the success of last year’s festival CTCA UK will once again host the second festival where Turkish Cypriot community members can come together with the other communities to celebrate and share their culture.

The event hosts music and dance performances, food and craft stalls, donkey rides and funfair for kids big and small. Since it is also Father’s Day, you can attend the festival to celebrate this special day with family and friends and get a flavour of Turkish Cypriot culture.
