Talkies Community Cinema runs HERE film festival in Enfield and the surrounding areas every year throughout March and April. The festival is devoted to showcasing local talent and suburban themes.

The next edition of this year’s festival will be David and Olivia, showing at Bounds Green Sports Club on April 13.

Bowes Park residents, actors and film entrepreneurs Kate Braithwaite and Sean Lerwill got fed up with conventional film distribution and decided to strike out into new territory by creating an online mini-series. Within three months it had had more than 8 million viewing minutes. In David and Olivia two people find themselves on the road with one car but wanting to go in different directions.

Kate’s professional career spans dance, modelling and acting. Her frustrations with the roles she was being offered decided her take more control herself. Producing and acting in David and Olivia has inspired her to step behind the camera as well as push forward with other filmmaking projects.

Sean is a former Royal Marines Commando Officer turned published author, actor/model and filmmaker. Frustrated by the difficulties he and his friends faced making their way in TV and film, Sean tried to inspire his friends and colleagues to create their own work. David and Olivia is the culmination of these efforts over recent years. Now Sean can do what he loves: to write and act for a living.

This Talkies event is the UK premiere of the feature film, Kate and Sean will host the event revealing the story of their adventure and answer questions from the audience.
