A brand new residential and nursing home has been opened to care for the borough’s most vulnerable residents.

Cllr Christine Hamilton cut the ribbon across the plaque for the home and gave a tour around Bridgewood House on February 15.

The 70-bed care home provides care for the over 65 with conditions such as dementia. Residents and staff from the Council’s previous two existing care homes Bridge House and Coppice Wood Lodge moved to Bridgewood House last year.

Enfield Council’s cabinet member for health and adult social care, Cllr Alev Cazimoglu, said: “It is the sign of a caring and nurturing society that we look after its most vulnerable members in a safe, welcoming and nurturing setting.

“The council made the decision to invest in the future of our older people in Enfield to ensure they have access to a high-quality building with the latest facilities, so they can receive the care they rightfully deserve.

“Bridgewood House will provide great care to those who need it the most, to help improve the physical, mental and emotional well-being of its residents. The safety of and provision for adults with complex needs is our top priority.”

The new facility is run by Independence and Well Being Enfield Ltd, a wholly owned council company. For advice, support and information about adult care and the services that Enfield Council provides, go to https://new.enfield.gov.uk/services/adult-social-care/.
