A new play by an award-winning writer will tell the story of conscientious objectors during World War I.
It follows characters Bertrand Russell and Bert Brocklesbury, who refused
This Evil Thing will be performed at St Augustine’s Church, Mattison Road, N4, on Thursday February 22 at 7pm.
After the 75-minute performance there will be an opportunity to discuss the issues raised with the play's writer, Michael Mears.
Members of Haringey First World War Peace Forum will be there to discuss Haringey’s own 350 conscientious objectors of the First World War.
The Forum will also introduce the programme of events planned for their Conscientious Objection Remembered project.
There will be a collection on the night to cover expenses and raise a donation to the London Catholic Worker community, who work with refugees.
