A fire at a block of flats in Wood Green destroyed a roof top water tank.
Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were needed to extinguish the flames in Palmerston Road.
Crews from Southgate, Hornsey, and Tottenham fire stations were at the scene after a call was made at 7:48pm.
The fire was under control at 10:20pm.
Around 20 people left the building before the Brigade arrived.
Watch Manager Andy Bathie, who was at the scene, said: “This was a challenging fire for crews as there were some cylinders involved.
“Our priority was to cool down the cylinders as they can explode when they are exposed to heat.”
It is believed the fire was started accidentally.
