To give cinema-goers the most intense, electrifying experience possible, cinemas across the UK are upgrading to 4DX.

4DX is more than just watching a film: viewers are fully immersed into the film, with high-tech motion seats and special effects meaning all five senses are stimulated in perfect synchronicity with what’s happening on screen.

Cineworld Enfield has joined these high-tech wonders in its new installation, as part of a bigger cinema upgrade which will continue throughout 2018.

The new screen took between three and four months to install, as well as reinforcing the floors and adding extra sound-proofing to the walls to create the most thrilling experience for the viewer.

But what can a viewer expect to experience?

Well, that is a case for the imagination, as the high-tech spec means the possibilities are almost endless.

For example, imagine the screen is showing an intense car chase. For the viewer, the chairs could be following the camera’s movements and swerving its occupant left and right, vibrating when the inevitable explosion hits.

Extra to that, the wind and rain and fog will be blown through the cinema using the machinery, and even the smell of burning tyres will emanate through the screening room.

And, in the case of Cineworld Enfield, it is only the second screen in the UK which will feature snow, so it can be snowing all year round in this special screen.

One of the most popular 4DX films has been Jurassic World, while Thor: Ragnarok, Justice League and Star Wars: The Last Jedi are upcoming favourites to get the full experience.

Booking is open on the Cineworld website for upcoming 4DX films, and Thor: Ragnarok is in cinemas now.
