More jobs are coming courtesy of the world’s largest online retailer

Amazon's new delivery station in Stockingswater Lane, Enfield, opening in August will create 30 employment positions.

Further vacancies will be created from Amazon working with 13 independent delivery companies.

They will reportedly hire over 100 drivers to deliver parcels throughout the borough.

This number will rise to more than 400 during the peak Christmas period.

Robert Viegers, UK director for Amazon Logistics, said: “Amazon Logistics adds capacity and flexibility to Amazon’s delivery network, enabling us to meet the delivery needs of customers.

“Amazon Logistics is also helping independent local delivery companies to grow their businesses by providing state of the art technology to deliver Amazon orders.”

Independent local, regional and national delivery companies deliver parcels for Amazon seven days a week.

Amazon currently offers free Standard Delivery to over 14,000 Amazon Pickup Locations, from Amazon Lockers to Post Office branches and convenience stores.

Amazon Prime members, meanwhile, receive unlimited one-day delivery, and can also have parcels delivered on Sunday at no extra cost.
