A FOOD and tobacco company, a woman and a housing firm have all been fined a total of £5k for flytipping.

Dirik Trading Limited, House Action Management Limited at Michelle Pettengell, of Eversley Close, Loughton, all left disgusting rubbish in Loughton.

Dirik Trading Limited were fined £2k and ordered to pay the council’s prosecution costs of £790, and a victim surcharge of £170.

They employed a person to dump the waste accumulated after renovation work to their building in Lower Road, Loughton, without checking if they were a registered carrier.

Waste included cardboard boxes, shop signs, Sim card packets and letters addressed to the company were left on a green space at the junction of Ladyfields and Colson Road, Loughton.

The firm also failed to complete a waste transfer note. The director of the company, Ozgur Dirik, pleaded guilty.

Meanwhile Housing Action Management Limited, based in Colchester, were fined a total of £4,330.

They left a number of black sacks containing household waste in Chigwell Lane, Loughton.

Director, Rajbinder Johal, arranged for a property to be cleated of waste by handing the waste to an individual in a white van without necessary registration checks. He pleaded guilty.

Michelle Pettengell allowed a cold caller to take her waste away for £40 in cash, and was fined £630. It was eventually found in garages in Pyrles Lane, Loughton.

She was arrested when she failed to attend a court hearing on April 24, 2017.
