TOWIE star Samantha Faiers has been working with a Muswell Hill language school in the hope of teaching her baby a second language.

The first lesson with Lingotot and the family will feature in ITV’s Sam Faiers; The Mummy Diaries.

The new mum, who found fame on The Only Way Is Essex, will now star in the new reality show. The six week series follows her day-to-day life as she finds her feet as a mother to baby Paul.

Lingotot, based in Muswell Hill, provides children’s language classes for pre-school and primary school aged children. Lingotot was invited to Sam's home to help introduce the Spanish language to her nine month old son.

Sam, 25, who herself spent her early years in Spain and once spoke the language fluently, is keen that her young son be exposed to a second language from a very early age and so called upon the Lingotot team to help.

Lily, owner of the Lingotot business in Muswell Hill and Alexandra Palace, says: “It is never too soon to start and teach a child a foreign language. Between birth and five years of age, the human brain is hard-wired for learning multiple languages. After age five, this critical window begins to close and it gets much harder to acquire a new language and a good accent."

An hour-long session was filmed and based on a typical pre-school community class, filled with songs and actions, bringing huge smiles of delight to the faces of both mother and baby.

Far from simply performing for the camera, Sam has been keen to continue the classes and the team has returned to her home to deliver additional support.

Lingotot, which provides classes in Spanish, French - and soon Mandarin- across Haringey helps thousands of children each week to develop a love for learning a foreign language. The award-winning classes have been designed to engage children as young as a few weeks with age-appropriate songs, actions and vocabulary.

Lily adds: “Babies’ and young children’s brains are like sponges and people are always amazed by what they take in. Often some of the first words of the young babies who come to our classes are in Spanish or French and are used in context.

“We are delighted that such a high profile celebrity such as Sam Faiers has taken to Lingotot and hope that seeing baby Paul so engaged in the class and witnessing the joy it brings to him and his mum will help to shine a spotlight on the huge benefits and enjoyment to be found in exposing young babies to foreign languages.”

The six week series is being shown on ITV Be on Wednesday evenings. The episode is scheduled to appear this Wednesday October, 19.
