Three people were arrested after a man was attacked outside Bruce Grove station.

Several officers, two police cars and two police vans were called to near the station on High Road at around 5pm on Tuesday (October 11), where a person was assaulted.

Trains were held at Bruce Grove station and southbound from Enfield Town and Cheshunt while officers searched the platform and a service at the station for the attacker, resulting in severe delays on the line.

Passengers on a train behind the affected service - including an Enfield Independent reporter - were advised to travel by alternative routes, as according to a driver announcement "the incident looks quite serious".

The MPS Haringey Twitter feed initially reported it as a stabbing, but later said it was an assault.

A police statement said: "Officers were called to Tottenham High Road to reports of an assault. A male victim was located and received treatment from the London Ambulance Service for a facial injury and conveyed to a local hospital.

"Three males were arrested for assault GBH and remain in custody at this time."

No motive has been given for the attack.
