A synagogue, a cinema and a hotel are among the new buildings nominated for the Haringey Design Awards.

The 2016 shortlist was revealed yesterday (October 7), which recognise buildings completed between January 2012 and September 2016.

31 projects, chosen by public vote, have made the list in the seven categories. They are:

The winner will be chosen by an expert panel of judges: Annalie Riches of Mikhail Riches Architects, Matthew Bradby from Tottenham Civic Society, Roger Ward from Muswell Hill Traders, planning committee member Cllr John Bevan, and chaired by Deborah Denner of Frame Projects

They will choose individual category winners, then an overall champion, at an award ceremony on Thursday, October 13, at Tottenham Town Hall.

Haringey Council cabinet member for housing regeneration and planning Alan Strickland said: “I’m pleased to see so many residents have nominated their favourite buildings and design work and the shortlisted projects are a reminder of the first class design that you can see in every corner of Haringey.”
