Voters will go to the polls tomorrow (October 6) after the resignation of a cabinet member earlier this year.

Peter Morton, former health chief for Haringey Council, stood down as representative of St. Ann’s ward over the summer, triggering a by-election.

People living in the ward can cast their vote at any time between 7am and 10pm tomorrow. The council said on Twitter they will not need their polling cards to do so.

The candidates are:

Josh Dixon (Lib Dems)

Janus Polenceusz (UKIP)

Ronald Stewart (Green)

Noah Tucker (Labour)

Ellis Turrell (Conservatives)

It is the second election Mr Stewart has stood in this year, after he ran to be GLA representative for Enfield and Haringey under the Green banner. He came third, over 75,000 votes behind winner Joanne McCartney.

Liberal Democrat candidate Josh Dixon also has election experience, having stood to be MP for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner in 2015.

UKIP’s Janus Polenceusz was election agent to Hornsey and Wood Green candidate Clive Morrison last year, while Labour’s Noah Tucker is a senior figure in Haringey Momentum, a campaign group known for its backing of party leader Jeremy Corbyn.

Ellis Turrell is the deputy chairman of Hornsey and Wood Green Conservatives.

There are four polling stations: West Green Primary, Chestnuts Primary, Portland Gardens, and St Ann’s Primary.
