THREE policeman will appear in court charged with assault after a fan suffered a broken eye socket at a Spurs vs Arsenal match.
Inspector Paul Wakeford, PC Dan Hargan, and PC Keith Darcy will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Thursday, October 6) on charges of actual bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.
It follows an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC), after the match at White Hart Lane on October 2, 2011.
During the game, where the three officers were on duty, Spurs fans encroached on police lines and were moved back.
The fan making the complaint, who was arrested during the game, said he suffered his injury because of police tactics.
