A housing development named after a triple Olympic champion will now namecheck her closest partner too.

Dujardin Mews, the road set to run through 38 new homes being built on the Alma Estate in Ponders End, is named after Team GB horse rider Charlotte Dujardin, who won the dressage gold medal in Rio 2016 to add to her two golds from London 2012.

Enfield Council have now announced one of the new blocks will be named Valegro, after her horse.

Cabinet Member for Housing, Cllr Ahmet Oykener, said: "Dujardin Mews are some of the first council homes that Enfield Council has built in more than 40 years and we believe the inclusion of the new Valegro block is a fitting addition to mark the achievements of this great Olympian.”
