Police have released CCTV of a man they want to speak to after a blind pensioner was mugged earlier this month.

On Saturday, July 2 at 10.20am, a 71-year-old man who police describe as “visually impaired”, was walking home after going shopping.

As he turned the corner into an alley connecting Fore Street and Folkestone Road, Edmonton, he was punched in the face and £400 in cash was stolen.

The victim is still in hospital after he was left lying on the ground by his attacker, but police say he is in a stable condition and should recover fully.

The suspect is a white man, aged in his early 20s and 6ft tall. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, blue jacket with white fur collar, blue jeans and white trainers.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident should either call Enfield police on 020 8345 4458, the Met Police on 101, or to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
