RAISING money to help hospitals will be a walk in the park for participants at an upcoming charity event.

The Walk for Wards charity event, a national scheme coming to north London for the first time, will give them the chance to take part in 5km walk around Trent Park, Enfield, to raise money for Barnet, Chase Farm or the Royal Free Hospital on Sunday.

Walkers from all over North London can fundraise for any ward, unit or clinic at the three hospitals.

Participants can register individually or as part of a family team who are sponsored together.

The Royal Free Charity, who organised the event, uses donations to provide “little touches and big differences” in hospitals, including everything from slippers for elderly patients to free wi-fi and specialist equipment.

Registration is £5 per person, which includes a t-shirt. Walkers are given a minimum fundraising target of £25 per person and £50 per family.

Entrants can pick up their event t-shirt from 10am and the walk will start at 11am.
