A sixth form student has spoken at the House of Lords after winning a competition.
Highlands School student Alex White made a speech and was presented with a prize by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office at the House in Westminster last week.
The prize for the competition, which asked pupils to come up with a project to improve the quality of living through technology, will see Alex take a place on a course at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
He said: "I am very excited, it will be an amazing experience and that it will be a great opportunity to experience an amazing city. As I am about to apply for university, the timing is perfect."
Bruce Goddard, head teacher at Highlands School, said: “We are so proud of Alex’s achievement in winning this very prestigious prize. The creativity and inventiveness he has displayed in this project is what we aim to develop in all our students. He is a first class ambassador for Highlands.”
