A man has been bailed after being arrested on suspicion of arson following a warehouse fire in Enfield.
Crews from across North London were called to tackle the blaze at 2am on March 1 at Whitewebbs Lane, near Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground.
Police have confirmed the fire took place in a warehouse at Guy Lodge Farm, and that a 35-year-old man has been arrested.
He has since been bailed until early April when he is due to attend a police station in east London.
They also said that Whitewebbs Lane remains closed to public traffic, except for those who live on the road, meaning it has now been sealed off for over 24 hours.
Eyewitnesses said that there had been “explosions” and “flames around 100 foot high” coming from the warehouse.
Smoke and ash from the fire had blown over the nearby M25 on Tuesday morning, causing severe disruptions to the rush hour traffic.
The site was still smoking by mid-afternoon yesterday, although fire fighters at the scene said that it was just embers and that the “damping-down” process was underway.
Police say enquiries are continuing into the circumstances of the fire, with no definite reason for it yet confirmed.
