A man has died after being hit by a lorry.
Bullsmoor Lane has been closed both ways while police and the ambulance service attend the scene. The accident happened at 2.20pm.
Police said the man was treated at the scene but died of his injuries.
He has not been named, no age has been given and his next of kin are yet to be informed.
An air ambulance landed on the nearby A10 around 10 minutes after the accident happened.
Several paramedics were seen tending to the person for 15 minutes. There is now a tent up around the scene.
Eyewitness Rosemary Mehmet told the Enfield Independent: "It is shocking for all concerned. Lorries should be diverted away from this road."
Jack Robery, wrote on Twitter: "Serious accident at Bullsmoor lane. Man dragged under a massive lorry. Puts life in perspective".
TfL Traffic News said on Twitter: "A1055 Bullsmoor Lane - road closed both ways near the junction with A10 Great Cambridge Road (collision). Use other routes & expect delays."
Bus routes are subject to diversions.
Police said there have been no arrests.
