The neighbour to a house party which resulted in the death of Khiry Ford has described the moment he saw the fatal blow.

The 23-year-old, of Tottenham, died after being stabbed in a Haselbury Road, Edmonton in the early hours of Sunday, November 30, following a street brawl.

Jeffrey Kessie, 21, of Elderberry Drive, Nuneaton, in Warwickshire, Charles Tamale and Deo Tamale, both 19, of St Edmunds Road, Edmonton and, Ata Hansen, 18, of Church Street, Edmonton, face a charge of murder.

Ediri Omonoseh 18, of South Eastern Avenue, in Edmonton and Aaron Burrell 20, of Lacey Close, in Edmonton are also accused of conspiracy to rob along with the four men.

At the Old Bailey, Byron Merrich, who was living next door to the home which hosted Nateshia Lewin’s 18th birthday party, told the court he was watching television at 3am when he heard a commotion outside.

He said: “I went to the front door and outside to see what was going. I could see a fight, more than ten people, and one person being assaulted.”

Mr Merrich, via a translator, said the group moved from the pavement onto the street at the fight moved towards Huxley Road, adjacent to Haselbury Road.

The neighbour revealed he followed the commotion and then saw “possibly one or two men” told shiny objects as they fought Mr Ford.

He said: “I did see a knife when I was outside my house on the pavement, further towards Huxley Road. He was holding the knife as if he was about to attack

“He was holding him [Mr Ford] with his left hand – he pulled the knife out of somewhere and then the stabbing happened. I’m not sure where he stabbed him but I then saw him run off towards Church Street. The man who was stabbed fell to the ground within seconds.”

Mr Merrich could not describe in detail what the people fighting looked like, only the man who stabbed Mr Ford was taller than him.

CCTV footage of the incident set to be shown to the jury as the trial continues.
