A double stabbing and too much noise has seen a club lose its late night licence.

Club Zero, in Jute Lane, Brimsdown had two stabbings in August which led to its third review of its licence as a result of violence.

Superintendent Carl Robinson for Enfield said: "Police and Enfield Council work hard with licensees to ensure licensing regulations are fair and are enforced appropriately.

“Where there are concerns with any licensed premises that lead to serious violence taking place we will always take enforcement action, which is the case with Club Zero."

Police Constable Gary Marsh, from Enfield's licensing team, added: "We worked quickly and closely with our partners at the council to address the issues as soon as we recognised the venue was becoming problematic.

“Requesting a review to revoke a licence is not a decision taken lightly however it in this case it was necessary to safeguard the public.”

An Enfield council Licensing Sub-Committe decided the club's licence should be revoked under Section 53A of the Licensing Act 2003.

The club will have 21 days to appeal the decision where they can continue to trade on the current licence.
