A budding fashion designer said it was a “dream come true” as her work was showcased at London fashion week.

Arjeta Hasmuja, beat of hundreds of designers to bring her work to life at one of the busiest weeks in the world of fashion.

The competition, fashion futures, saw teenagers receive ten weeks of training before designing their own pieces.

The 18-year-old, formerly of Winchmore school, in Laburnham Road, was inspired by butterflies and old buildings from Japan and South Korea to make her dress.

“I was nervous, but more of an excited nervous” said the 18-year-old “it was an amazing ten weeks and to actually design my own work for London fashion week was a dream come true.”

The Hertfordshire university bound student said she was more nervous for her university interviews than the final catwalk as she took the competition in her strike.

“I took inspiration from the shapes of the building, it was hard work and I have never done anything like it before.”

Speaking on her future, the student reading fashion said she has no dream job but just to be involved in the industry.

She said: “As long as I am doing something in fashion, I am happy. I just love making and designing.

“It’s not something that runs in the family, but I love having something on paper and then making it a reality, you feel a sense of achievement.”

The 2015 Fashion Futures Final took place at Fashion Scout at the Freemasons’ Hall in Covent Garden on Tuesday September 22
