Cilla Black was a "sensation" on her London debut - in Enfield.
The singer and television presenter, whose death was confirmed on Sunday, made her first appearance in the capital at the Old Granada, a cinema in Edmonton Green that also hosted stage shows.
She was brought to the capital by Beatles manager Brian Epstein, who travelled with her to watch his protegée perform.

Charles Stringer, then managing director of Granada Theatres, watched the concert alongside Mr Epstein.
Mr Stringer said: "It was a sensation.
"Although she wasn't terribly well-known she was part of the Beatles scene.
"Brian Epstein wanted to see how she went down in London because she was essentially a Liverpool star."
Mr Stringer, 89, now lives in Hertford, hopes some audience members recall the concert in 1963 or 1964.
He added: "I am sure there must be somebody in Edmonton who was there as a young man or woman and remembers it."
