This photo of a painted lady butterfly has been chosen as this week’s photo of the week.
Taken by Donald Lyven, of Finchley, this photo was snapped last weekend at he worked on his allotment.
Painted lady butterflies are some of the largest in Britian, and migrate from North Africa each spring.
Photographer Peter Beal said: "A creative study of this butterful butterfly seeking sustenance from the unripened blackberries."
