Supermarket staff transformed a mental health group's garden.
Workers at Tesco in Ponders End High Street, Lea Valley Extra and Freezy Water set to work on the garden at One Housing, in Southbury Road, Enfield, even digging a vegetable patch.
Colleagues painted fences, weeded flower beds and planted a plethora of vegetables in a two-day project as part of National Mental Health Awareness week.
Marcie Thomas, Enfield borough community champion for Tesco, said: “We’re delighted to have supported the fantastic work of One Housing.
“We hope the local community will enjoy the new garden, especially with summer shortly approaching, and we look forward to working with One Housing in the future.”
Victor Brown, senior team manager at One Housing, added: “We work together with our customers to make sure that we help them to develop their skills, raise their aspirations and move them towards independent living.
“The gardening project was a great opportunity for our customers to get involved and work alongside the staff at Tesco to create a beautiful garden. And hopefully we will get some lovely vegetables which we can use for our healthy eating programme.”
