Mothers fearing for their children’s safety on the school run have staged a demonstration.
The parents, whose children go to Eversley Primary School, in Eversley Park Road, Winchmore Hill, stood at the top of the road holding placards protesting at the speed of traffic down the road.
Clare Baker, who organised the demonstration, has called for traffic signals to be placed in the road to improve safety.
The campaigners, who have received backing from former deputy mayor of Enfield and primary school governor Ingrid Cranfield, will meet on the corner of the road next to the new Winchmore pub.
Enfield Southgate MP David Burrowes was at the protest. He said: “We have concerns by parents at Eversley Primary School about the speeding traffic and speeding buses in a very narrow road.
“We need to sort it out. We need to slow the traffic down and work with the council and Transport for London to come up with a result and make sure it’s safer for everyone.”
