Brave and bold productions have been the hallmark of London’s original pub theatre, The King’s Head Theatre, since it opened in 1970.
And now, to mark its 45 anniversary, it is inviting the next generation to join in.
It is seeking proposals from new voices in the world of theatre, drama, musicals, comedy and everything in between to take part in its #Festival45 in November.
It will see 20 new shows all performing for a week at the Islington venue.
With the departure of OperaUpClose early this year, this is a continuation of the King’s Head Theatre’s commitment to new writing and giving opportunities to the theatre-makers of tomorrow.
So if you have exciting, new, vibrant work that needs a platform, this is the opportunity for you to have your piece performed at least five times on stage during the festival.
Send your proposal (no more than one side of A4) to info@kingsheadtheatre.com with #Festival45 in the subject line before Friday, May 29, 11.59pm.
It needs to be new and a story that has to be told, and final pieces must be no longer than 60 minutes.
Companies will have to pay a small guarantee of £500 to perform at the King’s Head Theatre, and will keep 100 per cent of the box office.
