A new centre to help people with learning disabilities is set to open its doors this week.
The New Options centre, in Hertford Road, Enfield Lock, can host activities for up to 40 people with learning disabilities in any one go.
Painting, arts and crafts, music, quizzes, cooking, keep fit and Zumba classes will be a regular fixture at the new build.
Cllr Don McGowan, Enfield Borough Council’s cabinet member for health and adult social care, said: “Centre users and staff contributed their ideas to the design of the new building to improve the quality of service to users but also vastly improving their experience.
“New Options is a terrific community resource for adults with a learning disability. It encourages independence and promotes confidence, health and friendship.
“At the launch of the building a variety of art and craft will be on show as guests and users tour the building.
“Enfield Council’s New Options service deserves its new building where it can continue to develop new activities and encourage excellent achievement in superb facilities.”
The centre is also hoping to form close links with Friends of Albany Park to use its outdoor gym facilities.
