Edmonton MP Andy Love has welcomed an improved Sunday train service at Silver Street and Edmonton Green stations.
London Overground will be taking over the running of the Enfield Town to London Liverpool Street line in May 2015 and will see more trains stop at the two stations, with services every 15 minutes on a Sunday.
Bush Hill Park and Enfield Town stations will keep their roughly half hourly Sunday train frequency.
Mr Love said: “It’s positive news to learn that users of Edmonton’s train stations will gain the type of Sunday service that they deserve when London Overground becomes part of the operations in May. We are part of London, not a rural village, and the services are heavily relied on, even on Sundays, so it’s only right that these changes are happening.
“There is still so much more to be done to improve our train services, not least increasing frequency and capacity during busy week days, but this is certainly a step in the right direction.”
