A party brought more than 200 young people together for Valentine’s Day.

Wanna Be Friends – part of the Learning for Life charity – hosted the get together at Forty Hall to help teenagers with special needs get out into the community to meet others of their own age.

The event was organised to help many who might be feeling isolated and difficult to socialise.

Councillor Rohini Simbodyal, Enfield Borough Council’s cabinet member for culture, sport, youth and public health, said: “This event was a huge success, and all the young people who attended had a really enjoyable time.

“The choice of Forty Hall as a venue was ideal; children, parents and volunteers commented upon the grandeur, which made the event extra-special, and the accessibility of the hall.

“Many of the parents and carers were leaving their young people for the very first time, so this was a particularly momentous and poignant occasion for everyone involved."
