More than 1,500 people have dropped off the electoral register in Enfield in the past year, according to new figures.
Edmonton MP Andy Love claims 1,733 electors have dropped off the register in the borough in the past 12 months.
Mr Love said: “It’s a real threat to democracy that so many local people are no longer on the electoral register, particularly given how close we are to a General Election.
"No one should be denied a voice on May 7 and that’s why I would urge Enfield residents to get registered either by signing up online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or calling Electoral Services on 020 8379 8582.”
