The decision to build a player’s lodge at Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground is due to be made tonight.

Buildings at Myddelton Farm, adjacent to Hotspur Way, in Bulls Cross, will be converted and extended to create a two-storey 45-room building.

If approved, some of the development would be on green belt land.

The Premier League side moved to the Hotspur Way site in 2007 to develop its training facility.

However, those living around the ground are aggrieved by the latest decision, which officers at Enfield Borough Council have recommended for approval.

Concerns have also been raised by Forty Hall and Bulls Cross study group as well as The Enfield Society.

A spokesman for the club said in November: “The club has submitted a planning application to the London Borough of Enfield for an overnight accommodation lodge for players and staff. The application is for Myddelton Farm, which the club has owned since 2007 and which sits adjacent to the training centre. We have worked hard with consultants to design a scheme that is both highly sustainable and sympathetic to its environment.

“We have held a series of meetings with local residents, groups and statutory organisations over the past few months in order to discuss and adapt the design in order to address any points raised.”
