A man was taken to hospital after being found under asleep a train this morning.
Trains from Enfield Town train station were disrupted this morning after the man was discovered underneath the train at the station, in London Road, Enfield.
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called 6.57am and sent a single responder by car and an ambulance crew, who treated a man believed to be in his forties. He was taken to North Middlesex Hospital as a priority.”
People in the area took to social media to describe what happened. Some claim the man is a local homeless man known as “Harry” or “Eric” who had fallen asleep on the line to London Liverpool Street.
@tawalton tweeted: “Trains from #EnfieldTown suspended while they get our local tramp Harry out from under a train. He's ok, he was asleep on the rail.”
@Loveacup who serve hot drinks at the station, also tweeted: “Wishing Eric walker a quick recovery after his accident @ Enfield town station today. I'll have a coke waiting for you mate."
