The founders of a fatherhood support group have expressed their delight at being invited to 10 Downing Street as ‘charity champions'.

Courtney Brown and Vincent Abdul set up Father2Father, a non-profit organisation to promote fatherhood and families after the riots of August 2011.

The pair were invited to the charity champions event, hosted by Samantha Cameron, by Enfield North MP Nick de Bois.

Courtney and Vincent said: “We enjoyed and learnt much from meeting other charity workers from across the country and we are grateful to MP Nick de Bois for inviting us to this reception and for his ongoing support for our work in Enfield.

“We look forward to being able to work together to serve the community in the days ahead.”

Mr de Bois said: “I wanted Samantha Cameron to meet Courtney and Vincent because I have been very impressed with their commitment to improving the quality of family life and to improving the long term life chances of young children who often see their father as their first role model. Some people need help with that and that's what Father2Father offers.”
