An optician wowed some of Dubai’s finest opticians as he spoke about social media presence at a conference.

Garry Kousoulou, owner of Good Looking Optics in Enfield Town, and social media expert described his experience in the Middle East as ‘unique’ as he told the world about businesses using social media.

Mr Kousoulou spoke at the Vision-X Opticare Dubai conference last month and said he is looking forward to doing it again.

He said: “Many of those at the conference didn't realise how big social media had become in the past few years, and only used Facebook for personal use. They didn't understand how you could use Facebook and Twitter for business, or what it could do for your company. After the presentation, I leased with the attendees about their business plan, and how they use social media.

“It shocked me that some of these attending the conference didn't know how effective social media can be for their companies. A few didn't even know that you can have a business page on Facebook.

“Even though they didn't know before, I'm glad that I was able to teach them something that is very beneficial for businesses. The Vision-X conference gave me great business opportunities for the future to help more businesses, to teach others about how powerful social media is and how it can become a valuable asset for businesses.”

Mr Kousoulou also said that it was the perfect way to celebrate the business’s tenth anniversary.
