Neighbours of a man stabbed to death yesterday evening have paid tribute to a "hard-working and lovely man".

The 52-year-old was stabbed outside his home in a block of flats in The Broadway, in Edmonton at approximately 8pm after an altercation with a group of men.

It is believed a group of males were attempting to get into a “supervised party” inside the block of flats.

Four teenagers, aged 13 and 14, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are held at a North London police station.

Guy Bouho, who lives on the fifth floor of the block, said that his neighbour was a “hard-working and lovely man”.

He added: “I am scared for me and my children who live around here, it is very tragic to hear of these events and for it to happen quite early in the evening. It shows no-one is safe around here.”

Tarkan Mustafa, who also lives in the building, told the Enfield Independent he was not surprised by the incident.

He said: “We see this a lot of the time around here but when its on your doorstep, that’s what makes it even more real.”

This was the third incident in Edmonton within the past 16 days. All took place within a mile of each other.

On November 30, Khiry Ford was stabbed in Haselbury Road, following a street brawl.

Maciej Godlewski, 52, from Poland, died in hospital on December 3 after suffering head injuries in a fight in Fore Street, in Edmonton, on November 30.
