Luminous yellow graffiti reading “whites not welcome” was found outside the entrance to a primary school in June.

Parents dropping their children off at Prince of Wales Primary School, in Salisbury Road, Enfield, were disturbed by the graffiti at the back entrance to the school, in an alleyway off Mollison Avenue.

A second graffiti was also painted - an arrow pointing in the school's direction that reads “Islamabad".

In a trial in June, a teenager was cleared of murdering a 17-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in Palmers Green in December.

Joshua Folkes, from New Southgate, was killed in Bowes Road in the early hours of December 3.

A 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found not guilty of the murder at the Old Bailey.

June was also the month of the World Cup, and Enfield had its answer to the Paul the clairvoyant octopus who predicted results in 2010 in the shape of Pele the piranha.

The clairvoyant fish, which lived at Wildwoods Water Gardens, in Enfield, guessed a number of results correctly throughout the World Cup.

Centre manager David Monk explained how Pele predicted his results.

He said: “The idea is that we hang the flags of the two countries on the crossbar and a green flag for a draw and we attach food to each one and see which piece he goes for.”
